As general superintendent, he’s the head of all field forces. It’s a role that involves interacting with teams across the company, from early project design all the way through end-of-project commissioning.
Skeet’s role encompasses both big-picture and small details. He will alternate from facilitating problem-solving and optimizing construction operations to smaller but no less crucial tasks, such as determining which apprentice should be assigned to which foreman for proper training.
One of the company’s first hires in 1979 – he was an apprentice – Skeet moved steadily through the ranks and across the craft. Early on, he served as a journeyman, welder, steamfitter, and foreman; later, he took on the roles of shop foreman, superintendent, and, finally, general superintendent.
Skeet previously served as a steam fitter foreman and managed the installation of piping systems and equipment to support three major hospital campuses. Two new central energy plants were built under his direction, as was a six-story children’s health center.
Skeet lives in Covington, Ga. with his wife, Michelle. Most of his time away from work is spent with his seven children – Cory, Kyle, Mathew, Raine, Kelly, Sean, and Eric – as well as grandchildren Turner, Kendyl, Jackson, Harper, Vivi, and Mathew. To find Skeet when he’s not at work, look outdoors. He’s likely hunting, fishing, riding horses, and enjoying time with the family.
“Problem solving demands complete understanding of what the issue is. Not knowing even one small part of a problem makes it unsolvable in the first try.”
