Since joining the Batchelor & Kimball team in 2018, Jim has had the opportunity to work on several incredible projects in every major healthcare system in Atlanta. The first project Jim served on when he joined the B&K team as a project manager was the $603 million Piedmont Atlanta Hospital – Marcus Tower project. This facility included a 6,000-ton chiller plant, a 2,400 BHP boiler plant, condensate recovery, domestic water heating, and 31 Air Handling Units.
Although he feels every project he works on is special, Jim is most proud of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Arthur M. Blank Hospital project. Built during the COVID-19 pandemic, this facility is the largest healthcare project in Georgia’s history. This project is special to Batchelor & Kimball as well, as it garnered multiple accolades, including the CURT and AGC Awards.
What Jim enjoys the most about being a member of the B&K team is the opportunity to work on each project from the design phase through closeout. Jim enjoys operations management because he gets to work with B&K’s internal teams from VDC to Operations to Logistics, along with our external teams, to engineer, manufacture, and successfully install the most complex systems in the country.
During his undergraduate career, Jim spent time building Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Vance, Alabama. Following his graduation in 2011, he worked as an application engineer, system integrator, and consulting engineer for mission-critical, university, and healthcare projects.
Outside of work, Jim enjoys serving in his community and spending as much time as he can outdoors. From hiking to camping to fly fishing, he loves keeping himself active and spending time with his family. He and his wife Courtney have three children: Shane, Jeremy, and Caleb.
“To deliver, we are continuously advancing our ability to successfully complete complex projects. Our investment in our people, process, and our customers is what sets us apart.”
